Teton Multimedia: Cool Stuff

Teton Multimedia has many interesting and unusual projects that don't fall neatly under the usual headings. Some of this work is summarized below.

Fun with Math

"Fun with Math"
CD-ROM insert.
As part of a web development project for the Snake River School District, Teton Multimedia created "Fun with Math" — a program based on the "standard" addition, subtraction, and multiplication tables. The software is compatible with Windows 95 through XP (no Mac), and is available for free download on the SnakeRiver.com website. You can also download it here (3 MByte).

Gambola Games

Gambola.com is a subscription game service that lets you embed your own gaming community in your website. Below is a screen capture from one of the games: Gambola Chess.

The chess game can be played with another player anywhere on the Internet, or it can be played in solitaire mode. It includes a move history through the game, an optional clock, chat, and even a "beginner mode" that highlights permissible moves for each piece. Other games includes checkers and putt-putt golf.

Gambola Games are currently off line.

RCPix: Shockwave Virtual Tours

RCPix virtual tours use a Shockwave engine to display panoramic photos, particularly for real estate sales.
The Shockwave engine coordinates with ColdFusion and a SQL-server database of panoramics and captions. Panoramics can be created using a standard digital camera. Simply put the camera on a tripod, shoot several overlapping photos, then stitch them together using common "stitching" software. All of Teton Multimedia's real estate websites have this capability built-in, and other websites can have it "attached."

Potato Cannon

The potato cannon is a Shockwave shooting game programmed using Macromedia Director. It uses "similar triangles" and basic physics to create a
"quasi-3D" space where potatoes are fired at running targets. Many players find the game relatively addicting, so you may want to skip it if you're running on company time. Be certain to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before playing the game here.

Flash Humor

Rooting through the dustbin we stumbled upon this Y2K Flash piece
complete with boat sailing off the edge of the earth into the jaws of lurking monsters. You'll particularly appreciate the Y2K brain available in purple and butter toffee, and the "scream-head-shaped" Y2K-certified paper clips. We aren't sure why we created this piece, but it's still funny five years later. (See the goods.)
